Dr. Michael Kohrman has been named director of neurology at Akron Children’s Hospital. Dr. Kohrman joins Akron from the University of Chicago where he served as director of the pediatric epilepsy program, as well as director of pediatric clinical neurophysiology at the University of Chicago’s Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Kohrman attended medical school at Rush Medical College in Chicago. Subsequently he completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric neurology at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics. He also completed a fellowship in electroencephalography.
As a neurologist with additional board certifications in clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine, and epilepsy, Dr. Kohrman has dedicated his career to the treatment of children with neurologic conditions. He specializes in difficult-to-treat epilepsy, surgical epilepsy, tuberous sclerosis, seizure detection and prediction, sleep apnea, and other disorders in children. He has also served as a principal investigator on more than 50 clinical trials.
