Dr. Adam Boruchov Appointed as System Chair of the Cancer Institute by Nuvance Health

Nuvance Health has recently welcomed Dr. Adam Boruchov as the Senior Vice President and System Chair of the Cancer Institute. Dr. Boruchov is a highly esteemed hematologist-oncologist with extensive experience in clinical research, as well as in treating cancers of the blood and bone marrow. In his new role, he will collaborate with leaders at the Cancer Institute to ensure the provision of top-notch cancer care and services to the communities served by Nuvance Health.

Dr. Boruchov will be responsible for overseeing the strategic growth of the Cancer Institute, encompassing various oncology departments such as medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology, along with vital support services for patients and their families. His role also includes managing quality initiatives and physician recruitment to ensure that top-tier cancer care is accessible within the Hudson Valley and western Connecticut communities.

Dr. Christopher Lehrach, Nuvance Health’s Chief Physician Executive, expressed his enthusiasm about Dr. Boruchov’s appointment, highlighting his visionary leadership and contemporary approach to oncology. Prior to joining Nuvance Health, Dr. Boruchov held several leadership positions at Trinity Health, including Chair of the Oncology Clinical Excellence Council and Regional Oncology Service Line Leader. He has also been actively involved in clinical trials and research, with his work extensively published in medical journals. Dr. Boruchov completed his postdoctoral training, internship, and residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, followed by a fellowship in hematology-oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

About Dr. Adam Boruchov

Dr. Adam Boruchov has established himself as a prominent figure in the field of oncology, currently serving as the Medical Director of the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Saint Francis, and holding the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor. His journey in medicine began with his internship and residency training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York, followed by a fellowship in hematology and oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, also in New York.

Dr. Boruchov’s clinical interests are diverse and include leukemia, lymphoma, bone marrow disorders, and all hematologic malignancies. His commitment to patient care and his expertise in these areas have made him a valuable asset to the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center at Saint Francis in Hartford, CT.

He earned his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, showcasing his dedication and passion for the medical field from early on in his career.
