Telehealth proving to be an invaluable, up-and-coming resource for pediatric care

The Nemours Children’s Health System launched CareConnect in 2015, a telehealth system designed to improve the quality of patient care. After nearly two years of pioneering the service, more than 97% of all patients reported positive experiences with the service.

Telehealth refers to the enhancement of health care and health education through the means of telecommunications technologies. The broad variety of technologies are employed to provide virtual medical and health services.

Nemours’ senior Vice President Gina Altieri commented on the efficacy of telemedicine, citing its convenience and high-quality for an increasingly busy world. A survey conducted by Nemours showed that the majority of parents have already used or plan to use telehealth in the future for pediatric care for their children.

Nemours will be hosting a webinar on Wednesday, May 24th from 1-2PM CST to further discuss how telehealth leads to greater efficiency and larger workflow to allow physicians to be successful.
