The Department of Pediatrics at the UAB School of Medicine, in partnership with Children’s of Alabama (COA), invites applications and nominations for a Pediatric Pulmonologist to join the clinical faculty and to serve as a physician partner at the North Alabama Children’s Specialists Clinic (NACS) location in Huntsville, Alabama. 

The selected candidate will provide care at the North Alabama Children’s Specialists Clinic (NACS) in Huntsville, AL. Strong clinical demand and an expanding division will offer the new pediatric pulmonologist an exciting array of opportunities to participate in its growth and development. The two current physicians are looking to add a third fulltime clinical partner that will enjoy a great position with a healthy life-work balance.  

The role will be primarily focused on providing ambulatory/outpatient care, 4-days a week (8 half-day clinics). There will be limited inpatient call requirements, no more than 7 days per month for inpatient consultations. The outpatient call for the practice will be equally divided between the physicians with nurse practitioners taking the bulk of patient calls. Required Qualifications:
  • MD, DO, or MD/PhD
  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Board certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine

North Alabama Children’s Specialists was established in 1994. Our practice is home to two pediatric pulmonary specialists and one pediatric neurology specialist. In addition, pediatric specialists in the field of adult congenital heart disease, pediatric rheumatology, pediatric general surgery, pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric gastroenterology hold monthly clinics in our office.

Physicians and other clinical faculty candidates who will be employed by the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (UAHSF) or other UAB Medicine entities, must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
